Barnet – Sensory Garden.
We were asked to create a sensory garden for a care home in Hertfordshire. Working with Hollmark, their specialist garden designers, we took the care home users special requirements into consideration with the build.
We looked at ways to maximise wheelchair access and reduce trip hazards in the garden, creating a safe and sensory experience for residents.
Brick planters were used to create a long-lasting feature for the garden. The planters also meant that flowers were more accessible as they weren’t all at ground level.
To make sure the garden could be used in all weathers, we laid a resin pathway which is less slippery when wet. The resin also limits the number of weeds, making sure the garden is easy to maintain. Then, to highlight the edge of the path, we introduced a stone edging to add a contrasting texture.
For the build we used: Marshalls argent bricks for the planters, @bradstoneuk slabs with weatherpoint 365 and Autumn gold resin for the pathway.

Scott has just completed our decking for our back garden and it’s absolutely perfect! The quality of materials that are used are great and he has made our garden a pleasure to be in. I can’t thank him enough!
